Grateful in Ramadhan

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious,
 The Most Merciful

Hi and assalamualaikum everyone,

Alhamdullilah it's been four days in Ramadhan. How was your Ramadhan so far? I hope everyone does well with your fasting and ibadah practices in Ramadhan. In shaa Allah.

Now I am in a library in UniSa and need to finish my assignment. I was super duper busy lately, but I missed my blog, So I was thinking, how about I share something with all of you and have a quick update on my blog.

The story happened when one of my sister-friend shared me something. She asked me,

"What is the first thing you need to do when you're entering Ramadhan?"

And I bluntly answered, "Betulkan niat - renew and refresh our intention."

She said yup that was true but half true. She said to me that the first thing that we need to do is to be GRATEFUL. Like a knife piercing my heart, I suddenly felt really sad because I never thought of that. So I asked her, "Why?"

She answered because not everyone has the chance to ENTER Ramadhan. She asked me this, and I want to ask all of you to do the same. Let us sit back and start to think about our family members or maybe our friends. How many of them have gone meet The Almighty and never had the chance to enter Ramadhan this year?

There will be someone that gone and probably they also did not know that they will never have the chance to meet Ramadhan again. So, I said Alhamdullilah with full of consious. We need to say alhamdullilah, thanking Allah for giving this golden chance to be able to enter Ramadhan. When we were given this opportunity, don't lose it. Let us worship Allah and always upgrade our iman and ibadah each day that passing by in Ramadhan. We also might not know, are we able to meet Ramadhan again next year?

There is a hadith from our beloved Rasullulah SAW (peace be upon him) that I really like and want to share with all of you:

Every action of the son of Adam is given manifold reward, each good deed receiving then times it's like, up to seven hundred times. Allah the Most High said, 'Except for fasting, for it is for Me and I will give recompense for it, he leaves off his desires and his food for Me.' for the fasting person there are two times of joy; a time when he breaks his fast and a time of joy when he meets his Lord, and the smell coming from the mouth of the fasting person is better with Allah than the smell of musk." [Imam Bukhari]

There are two things that I like about this hadith. The first one is that how Allah said that, we're fasting is not for ourselves but for Allah. Imagine all the ibadah that we've done. Everything is actually for our soul and for our iman. But for fasting is for Allah SWT. Therefore Allah will be given us TWO times of joy. MasyaAllah. The joy that Allah promise to us when we're fasting is another one that I personally like from this hadith that makes me feel strong to overcome the laziness or tiredness during Ramadhan.

Another thing that we need to remember is that not everyone has the chance to have a PEACEFUL Ramadhan. I was so sad about what happened to our sisters and brothers in Palestine. I wrote this with watery eyes because I remembered the video that I watched on Facebook. The message was so powerful that bring me to tears. If you did not watch it yet, please do watch it here. 👇

Have you watched it? After watching this video, I am so grateful for what I have had until now. Our brothers and sisters are in a war. Bombing and shooting were everywhere. How about their iftar? Do they get enough food? Or are they even have the time to think about iftar? These questions keep popping on my head. What happened there really breaks my heart and I'm unable to do anything. I just have dua and I will not stop making dua to them. Let us pray together for our brothers and sisters.

Although I'm in Australia and the minority here. But Australia didn't do any harm to us and let us free to practise Islam and fasting. The Islam community here is so strong. They still do Taraweeh, and sometimes every weekend there will be a grand iftar for the Muslim. We have the freedom as well here in Australia. How generous of them to us as a Muslim Community. To all my Malaysian friends, we also need to be grateful to be the citizen of Malaysia where Islam is our official religion and of course, there is no war. Alhamdullilah.

There are many things actually that we need to be grateful for. Some of my friends said that Allah has given us health. How many people at the hospital now or on their deathbed unable to do anything for Ramadhan.

However, these two things that I share with all of you before were really made me think and I'm personally feel really grateful for being part of this year Ramadhan. Alhamdullilah. Alhamdullilah. Allhamdullilah. Let us be grateful together, in shaa Allah. When we feel more grateful to Allah SWT. In shaa Allah we will also do our best for this Ramadhan. 😊

Until next post everyone. 💕
